For viruses, try Avast. It's strange that Firefox is the ONLY one that works. In IE it's Tools-Internet Options-Advanced tab then "reset" the browser to default settings. I've changed all antivirus program settings, reinstalled the full OS etc, and lost my patience with IE. check over here
