SP1 seemed to go ok, but the update detection advises that critical update SP3 needs to be installed. Just exactly HOW can I use MY current copy? I thought people were saying that it was not possible to install *existing* Office 2000 updates/SPs. The next day I decided that I would give in to Microsoft and load a copy of Office 2007 that I had purchased several years ago at a big discount but I admit that the disc was perhaps not quite mint, but as I said, I had this trouble with another disc which was mint - in fact I tried this one
